ESAC Venture Week 2022 in Kitzbühel – Recap

Inspiring people with brilliant minds in one of the most beautiful regions of Austria – the European Super Angels Club once again hosted its annual event series in Kitzbühel. The special thing about this year? In 2022, the event was not held on a single day, but stretched over three days, with each day dedicated to a special topic. The ESAC Member Day turned into the ESAC Venture Week.

Crypto Day

The ESAC Venture Week officially started with our Crypto Day. A gondola took our guests to almost 2,000 meters high up to the mountains to the Kitzbüheler Horn. A breathtaking view of the valley, typical Tyrolean cuisine and exciting presentations awaited the guests at the Hornköpflhütte, our “Crypto Alm”. Among our top-class speakers were Dimitrios Psarrakis, Head of the EU Affairs & Financial Strategy at XReg Consulting, Alexander Rapatz, Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Black Manta Capital Partners, Florian Wimmer, Co-Founder and CEO of Blockpit as well as Khaled Yassin, Chief of Trading at Flovtec. After the speeches there was enough time to ask our speakers questions and also to connect with all other guests. Our first day was rounded off with our evening event, which took place at Gasthof Rehkitz, one of the best restaurants in town.

HEALTH & LIFE SCIENCE SUMMIT

On the second day of the event, the Health & Life Science Summit was held. Berthold Baurek-Karlic, President of the European Super Angels Club, officially opened the Summit and acted as moderator for the rest of the day. In terms of female empowerment, it was a great honor to have real power women at the ESAC Venture Week. Among our speakers were Cornelia Beier, serial entrepreneur as well as Venture Partner at Venionaire Investment and Initiator of the LSF 2030 Fund and Barbara Sladek, Co-Founder and CEO of Biome Diagnostics and awarded as Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2022. The day was rounded off with Tyrolean specialties from the region. The evening ended at the exlusive location Kitzhof Lounge, true to the motto “Drinks & Networking”.

ESAC MAIN EVENT

The last day was especially dedicated to our ESAC members. Like last year, the Main Event started with a golf tournament, where our guests could prove their skills on the challenging golf club, Zielhaus Redbull, with a 9-hole course, situated in the finish area of the famous Kitzbühel Streif downhill race. For all who were not into golf, there was a joint hike to the Streif, which leads along the route that the best skiers conquer every year at the Hahnenkamm Race.

After the official tournament followed the award ceremony to commemorate the high-skilled performance of the golf tournament participants. Stefan Bollhalder from St. Gotthard Fund Management & Martha Oberndorfer from Venionaire won the golf tournament. Congrats again!

In the afternoon, participating ESAC portfolio companies – Blockpit, ELOOP, Monkee, Sproof, Biome Diagnostics, Unmanned Life, Flovtec, Ahoi Kapptn! and Sponsoo – got officially introduced and afterwards got the chance to network with investors and exchange ideas and visions on the latest developments and future outlook of their ventures. The evening then proceeded with a huge BBQ and after-event drinks.

The European Super Angels Club also extends its stay to join Business Angel Summit the following days, organized by the Standortagentur Tirol and Austria Wirtschaftsservice (AWS), as a proud sponsor of the event like every year since the beginning of the event series. President of the European Super Angels Club, Berthold Baurek-Karlic, also attended as speaker on the Business Angel Summit.
