Full House at Digital Health Startup Awards in Munich
Reflections on the European Super Angels Club (ESAC) digital health pitching event in Munich contributed by Founding Member, Mr Johann Steszgal.
The digital revolution has touched every sector of the modern economy. Despite the clear demographic trends of ageing European societies, the rate of progress in the health sector remains rather low.
This is why it was so pleasing to see 5 high-quality startups pitching to an audience of impressive investors who are determined to bring the digital revolution to the healthcare sector.
ESAC, in cooperation with KPMG and Avestu, hosted the event at Wayra’s fantastic venue in central Munich. Wayra is Telefónica’s Startup Accelerator, operating in ten countries all over the world.
E-Health Awards Germany
European Super Angels Clubs selects 5 startups from 5 different countries for our final event in Vienna (Nov 26th), through network partnerships and competitive Pitch-Events. After having selected an amazing Startup in UK out to the field of Bio-Informatics (Genetic-Models), we were excited to select the next two winners in Munich:
In short – “Freeletics for Mothers”. A health and fitness app for mothers after childbirth. The app offers mothers highly personalised training for recovery & fitness.
Developed a next gen sequencing based gut microbiom scan, which creates an individual profile for patients and doctors. In the end its an amazing improvement in diagnostics.
It was a brilliant pitching event which once again showed the strength of our Investors base in Munich and quality of startups within Germany. Unfortunately, only one startup will represent its country in November. MyBioma will represent Austria and Mommy Move will represent Germany. We are excited to emerge the digital health ecosystem in Europe and would love to see you join our journey.

This event will feature the winners of our national digital health startup competitions and bring them all together in front of 200 investors for a ‘Champion of Champions’ competition.
